On Monday, June 7, 2010 the pedestrian signal on Towanda Avenue, south of Hanson Drive at Sugar Creek Elementary School, will be removed to facilitate the construction of pavement widening along Towanda Avenue from Chadwick Drive to Dustin Drive. The widening of Towanda Avenue is required for the new southbound left turn lane being constructed into Sugar Creek School.

This project also includes the relocation of the pedestrian signal which will be located between Chadwick Drive and Hanson Drive to serve the expanded Sugar Creek School.

The pedestrian signal will be out of operation for approximately eight weeks but will be in service when school starts in August.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution in this area during this time.
