Shepard Park Construction Underway

Stark Excavating has begun the construction work on the new Shepard Park located along Hershey Road on the Town’s Eastside. The initial construction work includes the grading and site utility work which should be completed this summer based on the weather. The first phase of the plan calls for the installation of site utilities, lighting and the construction of the entry drive and parking lot. Additional work will be done after the site improvements have been made and include the construction of two baseball diamonds, a large shelter, restrooms, two playgrounds, dog park and other site amenities. Future phases will include lighting for the ball diamonds, multi-sport play field, perimeter walkways, and other recreational amenities. The facilities selected for the site were based on input from residents and the Town’s Parks and Open Space Master Plan.
