Due to continuing uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 virus the Town of Normal has decided to cancel the 2020 Sweet Corn Circus, as well as all other public performances scheduled for the month of August in Uptown Normal.
The Sweet Corn Circus - previously the Sweet Corn Blues Festival before a change in focus in 2019 - annually draws thousands of attendees over two days. The event’s new theme is a celebration of the agricultural and circus roots of Bloomington-Normal. Spreading across all of Uptown Normal, the Sweet Corn Circus welcomes Illinois State University students to the area while also entertaining community members through a combination of live performances, eclectic vendors, and great food. The 2020 event was to mark a new partnership with Maddox Sweet Corn, boiling more than 12 tons of corn via a vintage steam engine.
Also removed from the Uptown Events calendar are all scheduled LoungeAbout the Roundabout performances for the month of August and the Cruisin’ Uptown Normal event.
