Truck 12 is a 2000 Pierce Dash 75' Aerial Ladder Truck.
It has a 1250-gallon-per-minute pump and carries 800 feet of 4-inch hose. It can spray up to 1000 gallons per minute from the nozzle on the ladder.
This unit is capable of carrying a crew of six firefighters, as well as all their gear and spare air tanks and features a full complement of ground ladders in addition to the 75-foot straight stick aerial ladder.
Normal Fire Department staffs three paramedic ambulances, one at each of our fire stations. Each Normal Fire Department ambulance is staffed with a two-person paramedic crew.
Due to the amount of training and equipment required to operate as a paramedic level service, a Normal Fire Department ambulance is, in essence, a mobile emergency room equipped to handle virtually any medical event or trauma.
